The Writer’s Essential Tackle Box

Reviewed by Bob Truppe

As a writer, I dream of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow: the publishing deal. But, as a writer I don’t know the ins and outs of the publishing industry. Why should I? I’m a writer.

toolboxcoversmOuch, those rejections hurt. The industry is important, I guess. After reading the Writer’s Essential Tackle Box with the intelligent interviews of Publishers and Agents, I woke up to the reality. We do need this knowledge, especially to retain our sanity.

The Tackle Box contains the guides to help the novice by answering the basic “How to Write” and is loaded with information for those who are published, the pros.

Lynn Price has worked as the editor for Behler Publishing for over six years and is a contributor at the Litopia and Absolute Write forums for writers. Her in depth knowledge can be previewed on the Behler blog.

I usually don’t consume “How to Write” books in one sitting, they are just too boring. Lynn’s book was outside of the normal and difficult to put down.

This is the third time I’ve read about this book in as many weeks. It must be good. Thanks for the review Bob – I’m going to make sure I get a copy for my writer’s library!
